1969 Jaguar E-type roadster – Primrose Yellow

General

The Jaguar E-type went into production in 1961 and was the successor of the famous XK120, XK140 and XK150. The E-type was shown to the public on March 15th at the Geneva Motor Show and immediately became popular due to it’s exciting and elegant design as well as the technical concept. Looking at so many beautiful details it becomes clear that you’re watching absolute, timeless beautiness in automobile design. It is a form of art!

History

This specific E-type roadster (or Open Two Seater) is a Series 2, known for it’s open headlamp design, improved tail lights for better visibility and revised interior (more space).
This beautiful example was manufactured in December 1968 and despatched to it’s first owner in the USA in February 1969 by British Leyland New York.

The car was bought in 1998 by a Dutch gentleman in the USA. As the car was in a fairly good condition he chose for a mild restoration which was completed in 2002. Once done the car was stored in his private museum next to his house and became part of a collection of approx. 15 fine British cars, mostly Jaguars and Rolls-Royces.

Due to age and health issues the owner decided to sell his collection and so the car was bought by the current owner in 2017. It was decided that the car would undergo recommissioning as it had been standing still most of the time.

Description

This outstanding example combines a beautiful Primrose Yellow exterior with a Black leather interior. This car has wider chrome wheels fitted with whitewall tires and chrome wheel spinners. The car is in great condition and a stunning example from every angle with nice shut lines. The interior has been renewed in the past and the black leather seats are very nice.
The engine is completely overhauled (winter 2023) and still needs running in. The gearbox had no issues but due to age it was also completely overhauled whilst the engine was out (winter 2023).
A new black softtop is installed and a new matching hood envelope was fabricated.

Most other mechanics have been either overhauled, renewed or restored. Clutch, brakes, rear subframe, suspension, carbs, cooling system, electrics…. you name it. A Revotec cooling fan controller is added to ensure the right cooling level.

A Heritage certificate and Vehicle Information Sheet are present. Also many invoices for parts and labour.
In the boot you will find next to the hood envelope a tool roll kit and a Thor Brand mallet for wheel spinner/knock off removal.

This car is ready to drive and enjoy!

Due to lack of time (and too many cars) the car is being sold.
Viewing welcomed. Inspection and transportation can be arranged upon request.

Asking price EUR 89.500,-
